No 1 - Edinburgh Marathon

22/05/2010 20:33

Edinburgh was hot hot hot, at 25 degrees by 1pm. The first of five started well with 2.03 at the turn but heat and too light a breaky took it toll. Fifteen miles in and the wind remained nil, none! The crowds down the coast most welcome but the miles slowed and the legs got tired. The low was nineteen miles, jog and a week walk if im honest. 6x250ml waters, a 400mm bottle to start, min 2x330ml lucozades, hydration tabs and a bag of figs and jelly babies provided the juice to keep some pace post 20 miles. Slightly disappointed as I know I lacked some pre race carbs. 04.32.32sec was bearable for the weather on the day.

The stats were: 04:32:32 10k: 00:56:30 Half: 02:03:43 30k: 03:06:03 Marathon: 04:32:32
