Training in Majorca

30/06/2010 11:38
I'm looking forward to some training in Majorca, tapering down with some faster work and quality runs.

The Start of the Taper........

28/06/2010 10:57
Managed a good 31 miler on Sunday 28th with some good longer slower hills out of Drymen. It now time to taper and mix it up, gradually reducing the miles for the next three weeks. Overall time in the 'saddle' 5hrs 40 mins with stops at the Wishing Well Coffee Shop at Gartness.

Thank you all for support on this great run, a wee 47.34 sec 10k around Bella and Pollock. I ran with my two brother in laws, Craig and David as well as my good friend and running buddy Dave Stickland. It was another warm day and I wonder if I will ever run in the rain again !!! - all good heat for...

Last Big Miler!

24/06/2010 13:46
The next and last BIG training run will happen this Sunday, focusing on steady pacing, food and hydration. I plan a wee 32 miler to Drymen and back on the WHW. Thank you to the Wishing Well for their support and stores. After that it is time to taper to the 17th. Stats plan is a steady 12min mile...

On the Trail....WHW Training 13th June 2010

14/06/2010 10:52
Enjoyed a cooler trail run on the WHW to Drymen and around the town with a 30m effort in five hours fifty resulting in a sound 11.66 min mile average, marathon 4.41min. A few stops and a few refills of the bottles. Thank you to the Sheonah and Morven at the Wishing Well who have provided some great...

Erskine Visit

10/06/2010 22:37
I visited Erskine this week and met some real veterans of WW2, PoWs and service personnel. I learned about the projects and the work for young people effected by serving their country and doing their job in very challenging circumstances.

More Miles....

10/06/2010 22:27
Longer  runs on the up. Last weekend did 22m out and back to the Wishingwell on the West Highland Way. A fine wee place for coffee. Speed work during the week and longer runs now with a big 30m planned for Sunday 13th. That will be it for distance and the Stride will be ten more! Better hit...
